Thank you for volunteering! This registration process will be quick (register to the right).
Where am I volunteering? San Francisco's Visitacion Valley Greenway - a six-block patchwork of gardens, playgrounds, parks, and plazas. This event on Sunday April 27 will get the Greenway ready for its grand opening to the public this summer!
How do I plan my day? In a moment you will choose between two separate three-hour shifts: 9AM-Noon and 1PM-4PM.
What kinds of activites are available? A wide array: planting, construction, cleanup, painting, weeding, paving.
What if I get hungry? Water and snacks will be provided.
What should I bring? Work-in-the-outdoors clothes and sturdy shoes. Sunglasses and a hat, should it be a sunny day. We'll provide the rest, including gloves.
How do I get there? We're meeting at the beginning of each shift (9AM and 1 PM) at the Children’s Play Garden at 164 Teddy Avenue in San Francisco. With your email confirmation you'll get a link to a map, and public transportation and bicycle routes.
Tell me more ... During Earth Week, April 22-27, 2008, Banana Republic is donating 1% of sales, up to $100,000, to TPL, encouraging customers to donate to TPL, and giving customers in San Francisco and New York City opportunities to volunteer directly at parks and playgrounds nearby. Visit Banana Republic for more details.
