For better or worse AIA contracts are the standard forms used today with architects and contractors. The most common form of AIA construction contracts used are the A101, A111, and A201. In this seminar we will discuss the difference between the A101 Stipulated Sum and the A111 Guaranteed Maximum Price contracts. We will also discuss key contract provisions and ways to revise and supplement the standard AIA provisions to reflect the developer?s point of view. Finally we will also discuss how these contracts are affected by SB800 and suggest ways to modify the standard AIA provisions to respond to the SB800 requirements.
