DA Passes 2010 Legislative Priorities - At the MAPE
Delegate Assembly, held Friday and Saturday, Sept. 25 and 26,
delegates ratified the 2010 MAPE Legislative Priorities and
Positions. The priorities and positions are prepared by the Team
MAPE Government Relations Committee and submitted for approval
to the Delegate Assembly. The 2010 Priorities and Positions are

MAPE's 2009 statewide election cycle is underway.
Nominations opened on July 28th and closed on Sept. 26th at the
Delegate Assembly for the following Statewide Officer positions:
President, First Vice President, Second Vice President,
Secretary and Treasurer.

Pandemic Planning - During the last few weeks many
MAPE members have raised concerns about agency notifications
regarding pandemic planning.

2009 Team MAPE Legislative Awards - Senator Tarryl
Clark, Representative Tony Sertich and Representative Debra
Hilstom were award winners at the 2009 MAPE Delegate Assembly
awards dinner. The awards are given to legislators that go above
and beyond to support of legislation beneficial to state
employees.

New Officer Training - MAPE is opening its New
Officer Workshop to members who would like to learn more about
being an officer. The training will be held on Thursday October
15th at MAPE. A full leadership team is vital for an informed,
engaged local. However, there are currently 21 vacant leadership
positions among MAPE's 38 locals.
If you are interested
in applying your knowledge and skills to being a local officer,
and would like to learn more about officer responsibilities, the
basics of engaging your co-workers, and creating a statewide
