The results: MAPE's 2009 Member Communications
Survey- In 2009, MAPE faced two inter-related challenges: a
large state budget deficit and contract negotiations. In an
effort to raise awareness of these issues among MAPE's
membership and in the public arena, the MAPE Board of Directors
launched an aggressive campaign to focus MAPE's public message
and our capacity for internal organizing. As part of this
effort, MAPE is committed to soliciting regular feedback from
its members, to improve the quality of communication and
opportunities for members to be active in their union.
The 2009 Member Communication Survey was sent to 9,965 MAPE
members, 2,233 members completed the survey. This represents 18%
of our total membership.
