Invite your Legislators to the Summit
Maine's lawmakers are critical partners in our efforts to implement our "action plan for sustainable prosperity." This winter, we hope to work in the State House to create a new, dedicated fund for quality-of-place investments, like the Maine Downtowns Center and Land for Maine's Future. We'll also be working to create affordable transportation options for more Mainers, and to continue our advocacy for more cost-effective forms of government.
Let's make sure our Legislators are on board: invite your representatives in Augusta to join us at the Summit!

Subject: Join me at Summit 2008!
Dear [ Decision Maker ] ,
On Friday, October 10th, hundreds of Mainers who care deeply about Maine's environment and its economy will gather in the Augusta Civic Center for GrowSmart Maine's fifth annual Summit. It's an inspiring event, and I hope that you'll join us.
This year, we'll be talking about how to implement the rest of the recommendations proposed in the 2006 "Charting Maine's Future" report.
But we'll also be expanding the discussion to talk more about innovative new ways to "reinvent" Maine's governments, to reduce our tax burden and improve the quality of government services.
And we'll be discussing ways in which Maine's innovation economy can help address the climate and energy crises, while creating new jobs, businesses, and opportunities from Maine's bountiful natural and human resources.
This is a great opportunity for you, as a lawmaker, to learn about some exciting ideas and meet hundreds of influential voters. GrowSmart Maine is also offering a discounted registration rate to legislators and candidates. Visit www.growsmartmaine.org to sign up - I hope we'll see you there.
Sincerely,
|
