Launch of our Much-Needed Humane Advocate Program
In our April issue, we introduced our new Humane Advocate program. Our Humane Advocate Meggan Stringent hit the ground running and is working tirelessly to help our local community of animals and those who care for them. Please click here to read about a recent success story. If you would like to help support this program and ensure more success stories, please click here.

Be Prepared for Anything Fido or Fluffy May Encounter
Our Oakland Adoption Center offers a pet first aid and CPR class, which will give owners the skills necessary to tend to unexpected emergencies and monitor their animals' health. This class will be offered on Sunday, September 20th and will teach the basics of providing care until a veterinarian can be seen. Registration for this class is required.

It's Fun to Get Out! Adopt-a-Thon and Mobile Adoptions
Our annual Adopt-a-Thon was a great event with more than 27 animals finding forever homes. We would like to thank the local rescue groups and volunteers who did a great job placing these wonderful animals. We have many mobile adoption locations, including our newest at Lakeshore Farmer's Market in Oakland on the second Saturday of each month from 11am - 3pm. Come down and find your new best friend!

Want to S.H.A.R.E Your Love of Animals?
In February, the East Bay SPCA became part of the SHARES program at local supermarkets. We want to thank the many Tail Mail supporters who requested cards - the results have been wonderful! In four short months, we have earned almost $1,000 to support the animals in our care. A small act can make a big difference, and our shopping supporters are proof. If you would like to help earn points we would be happy to send you a no-cost, no personal information stored card so your purchase can make a difference every time you shop. Please email us if you would like to receive a card. Thank you for your support!
