Clear Channel Helps Us Spread the Word
We are most grateful to the Clear Channel company for their donation of a billboard, pictured below. The board was erected June 5th on northbound Highway 880 near the High Street exit in Oakland. Clear Channel hopes to move the board to the Tri-Valley area if a spot is available when the board comes down at its current location on July 5th.

Norm: The Biggest Lap Dog You Will Ever Meet
Norm is a six-year-old Pit Bull who is a real sweetheart that loves to cuddle. He enjoys walks and meeting other dogs, but his favorite activity is spending time with people. Please come to our Oakland Adoption Center to meet Norm.

Norm looks for the next recipient of one of his world-class hugs...

Everlasting Love
Our members and supporters are our lifeblood, and we are extremely grateful for the support we receive. Estate and trust gifts help us plan for the future care of local animals. If you would like more information on how you can continue to help in perpetuity, please call 510-563-4605.

Danielle and Paco enjoy a quiet moment together.

Reminder: Protect Your Pets During Summer Heat Waves
Even on mild summer days, the temperature in a parked car can quickly become dangerously hot. Rather than locking a dog in the car during errands, leave your pet at home or bring her or him along for the on-foot portion of your outing. A car's temperature rises an average of 19 degrees within the first 10 minutes after a car is closed up, and can quickly reach levels that are deadly.
Consider where your dog or cat is left at home, too. On hot days, even shady areas of your yard may not be cool enough to keep your beloved pet comfortable and safe. Providing access to the coolest areas of your home and plenty of fresh water are key to protecting your dog or cat on summer's hottest days.
