Five Ways to Cope with Email Overload

As organizations become increasingly reliant on email, the need to effectively deal with a full inbox is more pressing than ever. A recent article on ReadWriteWeb explores five strategies you can use to win control over your inbox.

The techniques the article examines vary widely, yet aren’t mutually exclusive, either. For example, one approach suggests limiting the amount of sentences you send in an email to five or fewer, while another recommends only checking your email twice a day (or less). Another still requires "taking action on every email that comes through to keep your inbox" — do it, delegate it, defer it, file it, or delete it — in order to keep your inbox empty.

You can employ any one of these strategies, or blend together different ones to create a method that works best for you. The article even suggests tools you can use to accomplish many of these approaches.
