IDA's Action Center.
The short explanation of this alert was:
A 900-foot-long container ship leaving Oakland, Calif. hit a tower of the Bay Bridge and cut open its fuel tanks, ultimately emptying 58,000 gallons of heavy oil into the San Francisco Bay. Dozens of seabirds have been found dead, and an investigation is underway. Please Take Action to thank Mayor Newsom for promising legal action against the guilty parties, and for focusing on getting the oil spill cleaned up.
Please tell your family and friends to take action, as well.
