IDA's Action Center.
The short explanation of this alert was:
In the wake of an avian disease outbreak in 43 PetSmart stores, the pet store chain has suspended bird sales in 775 of its stores until at least April. Only weeks after the discovery of psittacosis, a Today Show report alleged that some suppliers had mistreated animals before sending them to PetSmart stores. When living creatures are mass-produced for profit, suffering and disease are inevitable. Please Take Action now to urge PetSmart to permanently ban sales of birds and all other animals in their stores.
Also ask your family and friends to take action.
