We're sorry, this alert is no longer available. If you would like to learn more about ways you can take action, please visit IDA's Action Center.

The short explanation of this alert was:

In one of the worst cases of animal hoarding in New Jersey history, authorities recovered more than 100 dogs and cats from a sprawling 20-room hilltop home in the wealthy suburb of Saddle River. The surviving 68 animals, who were found still living in piles of their own filth, are recovering at an animal shelter, and may soon be available for adoption. Please "Take Action" to urge the state's prosecutor, Joseph Mongelli, to seek sentencing to the fullest extent of the law in this disturbing animal abuse case.
