The short explanation of this alert was: The Ryan White CARE Act reauthorization will not occur before the law sunsets on September 30th. Senator Lautenberg (D-NJ) has authored a "Dear Colleague" letter to send to the Chairmen and ranking member of the Senate Committee on on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions urging them to extend the current version of the Ryan White Care Act while the committee reviews a three year reauthorization. Unfortunately, only 8 other senators have signed onto the bill so far. The RWCA provides funds to lifesaving programs that are a safety net for many people living with HIV/AIDS.
