The short explanation of this alert was:

New Mexico recently passed a statewide ban on cockfighting, making it the 49th state to outlaw the vicious blood sport, leaving Louisiana as the only state where it remains legal. Please "Take Action" to ask your state senator and representative to co-sponsor Senator Lentini's bill to ban cockfighting in Louisiana and to support it throughout the legislative process.
