The short explanation of this alert was:

H.R. 1217 is a bill introduced in the House of Representatives to give factory farms tax breaks simply for not polluting illegally. This would force taxpayers to offset the costs of running an inhumane and environmentally destructive business rather than insist the costs of raising animals for food be passed on to those consumers who buy animal products. Please "Take Action" to urge your Representative to oppose this corporate handout.
