Campaign Unavailable We're sorry, this alert is no longer available. If you would like to learn more about ways you can take action, please visit DRCNet.The short explanation of this alert was: The Judiciary Committee of the US Senate will vote very soon -- probably tomorrow (Thursday, September 9th, 2004) on the Reauthorization bill for the Office of National Drug Control Policy. This bill is certain to pass, and currently it would scale back a law that takes financial aid away from students because of drug convictions to apply it only to people who were in school and receiving federal aid at the time they committed their drug offenses. We are asking the Committee to instead include language to repeal the HEA drug provision in full. Visit http://www.RaiseYourVoice.com for much more information on how to get involved in this effort for the long term as well. If you would like to view details on this alert, please visit here. |
