The short explanation of this alert was:
The filly Eight Belles took second place at the 2008 Kentucky Derby, but broke both her front ankles in the process, and was quickly killed following the race by lethal injection on the track. One study shows that over 800 horses die every year from injuries sustained in races because of the dangerous conditions they are forced to run in. Please Take Action to urge the chairman of the Kentucky state agency that regulates horse racing to make reforms that will protect horses from injury and death on the track.
Also ask your family and friends to take action
