The short explanation of this alert was:
For the 2008 state legislative session, the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities is presenting a $350.2 million capital request of 37 projects, including campus renovations, construction and repairs. The 382,000 students who take courses each year from the 32 Minnesota State Colleges and Universities will benefit directly from the system's bonding projects. By providing up-to-date laboratories, classrooms and student services centers, the system enables students to focus on acquiring the skills and knowledge needed to succeed. For a list of the projects, please visit http://www.mnscu.edu/media/publications/pdf/2008capitalbudgetrequest.pdf.

Right now is a crucial time to remind our state leaders about the value of the state colleges and universities having quality classrooms and labs so our students graduate with current skills and knowledge. Please take a moment to send a message to your state leaders and urge them to invest in one of the state's greatest assets, Minnesota State Colleges and Universities.

By working together, we can convince state lawmakers that supporting Minnesota State Colleges and Universities is important to the well-being of our great state. Combining our voices, we can have a huge impact on the legislative process. This is why it is critical to send a letter now.
