Campaign Unavailable We're sorry, this alert is no longer available. If you would like to learn more about ways you can take action, please visit IDA's Action Center. The short explanation of this alert was: In response to an outbreak of avian flu (the H5N1 virus), South Korean officials are now in the process of slaughtering hundreds of thousands of animals within range of the outbreak site, including chickens, pigs, cats and dogs. Since there is no scientific evidence that humans can contract the virus from cats and dogs, killing them seems pointlessly cruel, but the practice of eating dog and cat meat in South Korea could fuel the slaughter. Please "Take Action" to urge the South Korean Minister of Agriculture to spare cats' and dogs' lives. Also, please tell a friend about this issue and donate to IDA so that we can continue our important work for animals. If you would like to view details on this alert, please visit here. |
