The short explanation of this alert was:

You may have seen the video being circulated on the Internet in which U.S. soldiers stationed in Iraq throw rocks and laugh at a dog suffering from a severe spinal deformity. Abusing a helpless dog for laughs is not funny -- it is disgusting and shameful, and it does not represent the true values that we as a country stand for. Please "Take Action" to urge Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates to launch an immediate investigation into this incident and hold the perpetrators accountable.
