We're sorry, this alert is no longer available. If you would like to learn more about ways you can take action, please visit IDA's Action Center.

The short explanation of this alert was:

Friends of San Francisco's wild parrots are still waiting for North Beach landowners to sign an agreement that will allow the two remaining cypresses near the Greenwich Steps to be maintained and eventually replaced by new trees. The trees are an essential part of the wild parrots' habitat in North Beach because they allow the birds to continue their close connection with longtime caretaker Mark Bittner. Please "Take Action" to ask Mayor Gavin Newsom to ensure that the two sides reach a timely settlement that is favorable to the parrots.
