If you would like to learn more about ways you can take action, please visit
IDA's Action Center.
The short explanation of this alert was:
IDA has filed a complaint with the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) asking for an investigation of explosive allegations concerning the recent death of Gita, a 48-year-old elephant who lived at the Los Angeles Zoo for nearly five decades. More than one well-placed source has reported to IDA that zoo personnel first observed Gita in a downed position hours before veterinarians were alerted to her condition. Please "Take Action" to urge the USDA to investigate IDA's allegations. Also tell a friend about this issue and donate to IDA so that we can continue our important work for animals.
