Campaign Unavailable We're sorry, this alert is no longer available. If you would like to learn more about ways you can take action, please visit DRCNet.The short explanation of this alert was: The Higher Education Act (HEA) Drug Provision is a federal law that denies financial aid eligibility to anyone convicted of a drug offense, no matter how minor. Since the law took effect in 2000, more than 160,500 students have been blocked from receiving aid. Denying educational opportunities to students with prior drug convictions is unfair, counterproductive, and fundamentally flawed. As Congress prepares to reauthorize the HEA, supporters are encouraging their members of Congress to include full repeal of the Drug Provision as part of the legislation.
