We're sorry, this alert is no longer available. If you would like to learn more about ways you can take action, please visit IDA's Action Center.

The short explanation of this alert was:

In 1999, two El Paso Zoo employees were captured on videotape viciously beating an elephant named Sissy with ax handles. This week, one of these same employees has allegedly abused another elephant at the Zoo. This is a breaking and very urgent situation. Please "Take Action" now to urge El Paso's Mayor and City Council to close the Zoo's elephant exhibit and send the two remaining elephants, Juno and Savannah, to The Elephant Sanctuary where they can live in wide open spaces free from physical abuse.

Also, please tell a friend about this issue and donate to IDA so that we can continue our important work for animals.
