Chinese officials in Mouding County ordered at least 54,429 dogs killed last week due to a rabies scare. A massive task force led by the Director of the Public Security Bureau carried out the massacre over a five day-period, with officers often beating dogs to death in front of their helpless guardians. By week's end, over 90% of the county's dogs had been murdered in cold blood. Please "Take Action" to urge the Chinese Ambassador to the U.S. to ensure that other counties don't follow Mouding's bad example and to push his government to initiate effective preventive measures against the spread of rabies.
