The short explanation of this alert was:

California Assemblymember Lloyd Levine (D-Van Nuys) has proposed the formation of an Assembly Select Committee on Animal Welfare with himself as Chair. According to Levine, "the Committee would investigate, highlight and understand what the state can do to move away from the often unnecessary exploitation of animals in California." Please "Take Action" to encourage Assembly Speaker Fabian Núñez to approve Committee's creation.
