Workshop Description:
The Internal Revenue Service has completed a major redesign of the Form 990 annual return filed by most nonprofit organizations. This lunchtime session will provide an overview of the significant changes to the new Form 990 which will be effective for the 2008 tax year, including the eleven-page "core form" and sixteen additional schedules.  Special attention will be given to new questions regarding an organization's governance practices and policies, important changes to the public support tests, transition relief for organizations eligible to file Form 990-EZ, and the new Form 990-N "ePostcard" minimum filing requirement for all nonprofits.  Please note this session will not cover the Form 990-PF return for private foundations, which has not been revised.

Presented by Hugh Graham, MNA, client finance administrator for Adler & Colvin, a law firm committed to serving the legal needs of the nonprofit sector. His areas of expertise include Form 990 annual returns. His prior experience includes ten years spent working in international development and grantmaking organizations.
