THIS AFTERNOON at 4:00 p.m. (Monday 9/15), the Senate and Assembly are both voting on a
budget deal!

CALL your Democratic Assembly Members and Senators and let them know you
OPPOSE the budget deal!

1.  Call 1-888-268-4334, the Cuts Hurt Hotline.

2.  Press 1 for your Senator, then enter your zipcode, to be connected
directly to the legislator's office.

3.  Tell your Legislator:

"I OPPOSE the Budget Deal because it:
-- does NOT have the real revenues needed to protect and invest in
California, and instead relies on gimmicks and borrowing that put students,
seniors, and communities at risk for yet another year."

Plus, you may also want to mention other reported aspects of the deal:
-- major new corporate tax breaks
-- significant cuts to education, health care, and human services
-- a modified "rainy day fund" and mid-year cut authority for the Governor
-- extraneous provisions, such as take-aways from workers' overtime
protections in the high-tech industry
